About

The NHS is one of our nation’s proudest achievements and for 71 years dedicated NHS staff have been there for us all.  Whether they are doctors, pharmacists or nurses on the frontline, world leading scientists, hard-working cleaners, much needed clerical staff, caring porters or our amazing volunteers, without the NHS staff there wouldn’t be an NHS.

All our NHS staff, volunteers and society’s carers deserve recognition, but there are many that go above and beyond the call of duty to make the NHS a better service - with hard graft, exciting new ideas and simply by putting patients first.

The NHS Parliamentary Awards have been established to engage MPs in identifying and highlighting innovative and high-quality care across every constituency in England, and thanking staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment by recognising and honouring their achievements.

Now in their second year, the Awards have seen more than half English Members of Parliament nominating an individual or organisation for an award. In two editions, we received over 2'000 nominations from MPs. Those were 2'000 reasons why our national and regional judging panels were blown away by the talent, creativity and brilliance in the NHS identified by England’s MPs.

Thank you to our 2019 supporters, PVC MedAlliance and Bioncon, Award Partners, the Premier League, supporting the Excellence in Mental Health Care Award Category, and FUJIFILM, headline sponsor and supporter of the Future NHS Award Category. Their generous support has meant that the Awards have been put on at no cost to the NHS – so thank you very much to them.
