The East Lancashire Falls Response Service Team

The East Lancashire Falls Response Service Team

North West

The Falls Response Service (FRS) is the collaboration of a Paramedic and an Occupational Therapist responding to non-life threatening 999 calls for falls, and providing specialist emergency support to people aged 65 and over who have fallen at home. The team provides a face to face medical and holistic assessment at the point of the fall; with the aim of preventing unnecessary hospital admission, and further falls. To date 83% per cent of the patients treated by FRS remained at home.

Nominated by: Sara Britcliffe MP and Antony Higginbotham MP
The team are providing a pioneering service to some of our most vulnerable residents, going above and beyond to support people who want to carry on living in their own home. (Antony Higginbotham MP)
